The various youth congress leaders condemned the adverse condition of civil hospital and anti-people policies of the Akali-BJP government.
Addressing the protesters, Ranjam Kamra said, Fazilka despite being the district headquarter and constituency of Health Minister, the local government hospital has become a referral hospital. There are no specialist doctors – gyne, ortho, child, skin, eye – in the hospital and the working is being run with nursing and class IV staff.
He said, the post of Chief Pharmacist is lying vacant and in the event of any emergency, the post of Blood Transfusion Officer (BTO) is also lying vacant in the Blood Bank.
No doubt, the Health Minister has arranged the modern infrastructure in the hospital but could not manage to appoint the staff to operate them, he added.
In protest against the poor condition of the hospital, Kamra demanded the resignation from Health Minister Jyani or appoint the doctors.
Kamra said, in case the government fails to appoint the doctors, then Jyani should resign and associate with the protesters.
The entire status of hospital has been brought to the notice of Sunil Jakhar leader of the Opposition and further course of action will be decided in case doctor’s appointment are not made by the government.
