Ferozepur ANTF seizes 1.5 Kg heroin, Swift Car; Two Held
Heroin recovery in 2024: 34.500 kg, 10.500 kg in 2025
Ferozepur, March 12, 2025: In a major crackdown against drug trafficking during the War Against Drugs, the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Ferozepur seized 1 kg 500 grams of heroin along with a Swift car, arresting two individuals involved in the smuggling network.
Bhupinder Singh, DSP said, “Acting on intelligence inputs, the operation was conducted under the supervision of ANTF officials in coordination with the Punjab Police. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sukhwinder Singh and Lakhwinder Singh”.
The recovered contraband and vehicle were taken into custody, and further investigations are underway to trace the supply chain and potential links to larger drug syndicates.
SP Gurpeet Singh said the latest seizure adds to the growing tally of drug recoveries in the region. In 2024, Punjab police seized a total of 34.500 kg of heroin, while in 2025, 16 commercial cases have been registered so far, leading to a total heroin recovery of 10.500 kg, one drone, 300 injections and 7100 habit-forming drugs.
The ANTF Ferozepur has reiterated its commitment to cracking down on drug smuggling networks and urged the public to report any suspicious activities to aid in eradicating the menace, he added.
