Vigilance nabs patwari while accepting bribe in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 24, 2016: The team of Vigilance Bureau Unit Ferozepur nabbed Ravinder Kumar Patwari (Revenue) Kutbe Wala area, red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs.15,000 on the complaint of Bachittar Singh son of Kartar Singh of village Kutbewala in Ferozepur.
The complainant in his complaint to the Vigilance Bureau alleged that Ravinder Kumar Patwari Revenue of Kutbewala area demanded Rs.20,000 for making a report on the case file of Nambardari on May 21 and accepted Rs.5,000 under coercion on the spot and the balance amount was to be paid on May 24.
Acting on the tip off provided by the complainant, a trap was laid and the Patwari Ravinder Kumar was nabbed red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.15,000 in the presence of government witness Dr.Nikhil Gupta, Medical Officer, Civil Hospital, Ferozshah (Ferozepur), Rupinder Singh, SDO Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd Sub-Div Ferozshah along with shadow witness Kirpal Singh son of Jarnail Singh of village Kutbewala. The amount of bribe of Rs.15,000 of numbered notes was recovered from right pocket of shirt Ravinder Kumar Patwari.
A case under Section 7, 13(2) 88 PC Act, has been registered at police station Vigilance Bureau, Ferozepur Range and Ravinder Kumar was arrested on the spot.
