Vigilance nabs ASI for accepting bribe

Ferozepur February 6, 2019: The Vigilance Bureau, Ferozepur team has arrested Assistant Sub Inspector – ASI of Anti-Fraud Wing for accepting a bribe of Rs.7,000.

Giving this information, Makhan Singh, DSP informed that a complaint was lodged by Sukhwinder Singh resident of Ferozepur that an inquiry against him is going on with Anti-Fraud Wing and being investigated by Kulwant Chand ASI.

In the complaint, Sukhwant Singh has alleged that Kulwant Chand was pressuring him and demanding a bribe of Rs.15,000 for not registration of a case and a few days back, the first instalment of Rs.5,000 was given to him.

Today, Sukhwant Singh had come to give the second instalment and the vigilance team nabbed the accused ASI Kulwant Chand by laying the trap and recovered Rs.7,000 from him.  A case under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act – PCA has been registered against him and further investigation was under process.

Makhan Singh said the campaign against the corrupt officers and officials will continue in this way.
