Unidentified person throws three mobile inside jail, nearby buildings pose security threat
Ferozepur, October 23, 2020: Three mobiles and two sachets containing banned items wrapped in a black tape over the diaper of a child found inside the jail thrown from outside by unidentified persons, has posed a threat to the security arrangements inside and outside the jail premises at high risk, which needs to be plugged with an extra vigil.
Recovery of mobiles, which is termed as one of the most wanted banned item has been a regular feature from inside the jail o remain in touch with family members and rivals, to give practical action by making threat calls by contacting their counterparts or group members and in certain cases, the involvement of officials has also been reported and losing the purpose of keeping the accused away from the social world, as a punishment.
As per the information, on Thursday, a packed was found thrown from outside over the high rising wall of the jail by some unidentified person and on opening three touch screen Oppo company mobiles and two sachets suspected to be ‘bhang’ and ‘zarda’ were found.
The packet is reported to be thrown from the back of the jail compound that is surrounded by trees and high rising residential buildings touching the jail wal and open space on two sides while the front space is having jail officials’ residence and DIG Jails office. On seeing the packet flung into the jail, the official alerted the seniors.
A case under Sections 52-A/42 Prisons Act has been registered against the unidentified persons on the complaint of Sukhwant Singh, Assistant Superintendent and further investigations are on with appointing of IO in this case.
