Unemployed youths and stressed farmers to increase Punjab govt's problems
The marketing of 1509 and 1121 variety by the government agencies is not certain. The way the government offices and roads are becoming the wrestling places, it looks that the Akali Government is not likely to be at ease in the coming months.
At the same time, the Congress is showing its keen interest to influence the unemployed youths and farmers. But, both these classes are so fed up from the system that they are not ready to listen to the false promises of Akali-BJP and Congress as well and the political benefit is likely to go to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
It is perhaps for the first time that the farmers are openly opposing the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal in his political career and they are busy in working out new strategies.
Though Sukhbir Singh Badal, Dy. CM is representing the youths of Punjab, but, so far as employment issue is concerned, there is hardly any hope for the unemployed youths because of controversial statements by him.
Dy.CM had promised to give employment to 75,000 youths and but on next day brought down the figure to 10,000. The position is that for very limited posts, the applications are received in lacs.
Chief Minister is also busy in sorting out the issue of Dera Sachha Sauda by working on the vote bank for the coming assembly elections, the district administration has been kept busy in satisfying the farmers' community but as to what is going on practically for employment is not at all anybody's agenda.
Frankly speaking, the government has to be serious on both the issues of youths and farmers of the state by creating more job opportunities and extending the compensation to the farmers besides other marketing facilities. In case the youths along with the farmers join hands to resort to agitation, the government is likely to land in a very awkward situation, which could be beyond control.
