Two jail inmates in high security zone injured in clash

Ferozepur, January 1, 2023: Two inmates were injured during a clash in Central Jail on Saturday night. Police have registered a case and claimed that incident looked to be of personal enmity.

The injured inmates have been identified as Harpreet and Amit of Amritsar- who were attacked with the other inmate lodged in the high security zone of the jail.

So far the exact cause of dispute could not be known, but as per the preliminary report, it looked to be a conflict between two groups inside the prison, on personal enmity said, SHO Mohit Dhawan. Both were attacked by other inmates in a high security zone in the jail. He said, we have brought these two inmates to the hospital under tight security, who have been injured by the other inmates in the high security zone of the jail. After the MLR -Medical Legal Report, we will further investigate the matter after recording the statement. Both are facing serious crimes of murder.

Both the injured inmates, one in the head and other on the neck, have been sent back to the jail after treatment. They are stable and MLR has been issued, said Dr.Manpreet in Trauma Ward emergency duty.
