Two booked for child pornography under IT Act
Ferozepur, September 28, 2021: The Ferozepur police have booked two persons under Information Technology Act at Arif Ke police station. The incident came to light on reference from a Maharashtra Government.
As per the information, an investigation was carried out on a sealed letter received from the Maharashtra government and it was found that child pornography posts have been shared on Facebook. The alleged accused have been booked under Section 67(b) – (Punishment for publishing or transmitting of material depicting children in sexually explicit acts) of the IT Act, 2000. for sharing child pornography, identified as Gurmej Singh of village Arif Ke and Balwinder Singh alias Bai Bill of village Jiwan Bhedia.
The accused have not been arrested so far. Further investigations are on with Gurwinder Singh IO with a special focus on their internet surfing habits and offline storage devices before initiating penal action.
