TWO ARMS DEALER BELONGING TO KOTKAPURA AND ABOHAR ARRESTED FOR THEIR ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT IN ILLEGAL ARMS TRADE

Ferozepur, June 7: The Ferozepur police achieved another major success in tightening the noose of illegal arms trade dealers and arrested two arms dealers belonging to Kotkapura and Abohar.
Giving details, SSP Hardyal Singh Mann said that the police had nabbed one Arwinder Singh and had recovered 287 live cartridges besides 4 magazines of .32 bore from his possessionfrom Bhajan Gun House at Guruharsahai in March 2015. The Gun house belonged to Harbhajan Lal resident of Village Pindi who was authorized to deal with only .12 bore arms/ammunition. However, the erring arms dealer used to indulge in sale/purchase of .32 bore and .315 bore arms and ammunition from the various arms dealer of Haryana and Punjab, and further sell them to his costumers and some alleged criminals illegally. It is pertinent to mention here that Harbhajan Lal’s son Kapil Dev was already booked under Arms Act. Besides Harbhajan Singh had deputed Arvinder Singh as Manager of the Gun House without any approval and both Arvinder and Kapil Dev were involved in the illegal sale/purchase of arms and ammunition.
Following the information provided by Arvinder Singh, the police recovered 9 more illegal pistols. The SSP said that it was found during the investigation that two out of nine recovered pistols, belongs to one Gurbachan Singh, son of Ram Singh, a resident of Kotkapura and an owner of Kotkapura Gun House in Faridkot District and the another belongs to Varinder Kumar son of Gurdas Rai, the owner of Fouji Gun House at Abohar. The SSP said that the police have arrested both the gun house owners and is trying to get more clues in this matter of illegal arms trade. “We are also interrogating Harbhajan Singh, the owner of the Bhajan Gun House in Guruharsahai and we are expecting more revelations in the upcoming days”,
