C-PYTE introduces online training to youths for Army recruitment
Ferozepur, May 6, 2020: Due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation, the activities at the global level are upside down at all levels – either become stand-still or postponed. Till such time the situation improves, the C-PYTE has decided to impart online training for Punjab youth in all the camps, said Maj Gen Rajiv Edwards VSM, Director General, Centre of Punjab for Youth Training and Employment – C-PYTE.

Maj Gen said C-PYTE, established on August 19, 1990, is the brainchild of thinkers of Punjab who are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the State. This is a unique organization that is engaged in inculcating self-discipline spirit of national integration, secularism, the dignity of labour and work culture besides imparting technical skills for making the youth more employable in various fields including self-employment rather than seeking wage employment alone.
Speaking to this correspondent, Maj Gen said, since the inception of these training centers, more than 6 lac youths enrolled for training and more than 1.50 lac have joined the forces adding that the aim behind imparting the training was to bring the wayward youths to their right track.
Adding Maj Gen said, the major beneficiaries of the scheme are the rural unemployed who are given pre-selection training for joining the Army, Central Para Military Forces, besides imparting technical training to upgrade their skills.
The training also enables misguided youths affected by drug addiction and alcoholism to use their energy into useful activities by getting entry in the Army, said Maj Gen Edwards.
He said, the online training of youths for the Common Entrance Exam of the recruitment is already in progress since April 27, 2020, at C-PYTE Camps Nangal, Nawanshahr Ludhiana, Lalru, Shaheedgarh, and Hakumat Singh Wala – Ferozepur.
Major General further said, it has been decided to conduct similar online training for Punjab youths in all the 14-CPYTE Camps from May 15 onwards for a period of two months. He added the eligible candidates who are desirous of undergoing the pre-recruitment online training may contact the nearest C-PYTE Camp for online registration.
