Three mobiles found dumped on ground inside jail

Ferozepur, August 25, 2021:  Three mobiles have been found dumped on the ground during the surprise checking by the jail staff and inmates continue to have unabated access to mobile phones and internet.

Frequent recoveries of banned items from inside the jail especially the recovery of most wanted and among the banned items –mobiles -has put a question mark on the security arrangements at the entry points for smuggling in of such items.  The purpose of keeping the criminals away from society as punishment is also lost.  On Aug 22,  9 mobiles were recovered.  So far, during the current year, 138 mobiles were recovered in 69 cases while 112 during the last year in 66 cases. No doubt the vigilant staff on certain inputs is recovering the mobile yet no arrest has been made so far.

Divulging with details, Satnam Singh, Assistant Superintendent informed that on August 24, a surprise checking was conducted along with the jail staff at old barrack number 12 and three mobiles with battery and SIM card were found dumped on the ground inside the outer gate of the barrack which were recovered on suspicious of unlevelled ground.
