Three days “National Integration Cycle Expedition (NICE)” by Pedallers Society of India flagged off by DIG
Ferozepur, March 21, 2016 : Paddlers Society of India (PSI), Ferozepur, organised a three-day “National Integration Cycle Expedition”(NICE), from Khatkar Kalan to Hussainiwala, today,to pay rich tributes to the great martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev,
Giving the details here on Sunday, Ketan Patil, SP (HQ) Ferozepur, who is also among the cyclists, said that the National Integration Cycle Expedition would be flagged off by the IG Zone-2 Jalandhar, Arpit Shukla, DC SBS Nagar (Nawanshahr) Vipul Ujwal and SSP SBS Nagar (Nawanshahr) Snehdeep Sharma jointly from Khatkar Kalan.
Giving more details, national president of PSI, Gaurav Sagar Bhaskar, said that they would collect ‘soil’ from the sacred places associated with our great martyrs Bhagat Singh, Khatkar Kalan, (Nawanshahr) and martyr Sukhdev (Ludhiana) and carry this sacred soil to their national memorial at Hussainiwala,while pedalling on their cycles.
The soil will be used to plant a ‘Triveni’ at Hussainiwala in memory of these three martyrs, he added.
The cycle expedition, aimed at ‘ motivating youth for national integration and creating mass awareness for green and clean India’on reaching Khatkar Kalan commenced for back journey from the martyr Bhagat Singh’s native Khatkar Klan village today after paying obeisance at the altar of home of the martyr.
Similarly, obeisance will also be paid to martyr Sukhdev by visiting his native place in Ludhiana and the expedition will finally culminate on March 23 morning at 9 am. at Hussainiwala in Ferozepur, where the soil collected from martyrs places, would be thrown into river Satluj en route the expedition.
“Representatives of various cycling clubs of Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Jagraon, Moga and other areas will also join us on the way,” said Mal.
