Ferozepur, November 22, 2015: The Punjab Government has opened the job opportunities for unemployed youths in the state with the announcement of recruitment of 1.14 lakhs and the Education Department taken the initiative to start the process of recruiting 10130 teachers.

Education Reforms Committee said, a week’s back the process of applying on online for 3522 teachers in the primary sections is already going on and the applications for 560 Lecturers and 6050 Master/Mistress, have been invited too on online by December 12, 2015.
He said, 1800 Science Master, 350 Hindi Master, 200 English Master, 1500 Social Studies Mastes, 1200 Math Masters and 1000 Punjab Masters are being recruited.
Giving the bifurcation of lecturers posts, he said, 150 political science, 70 Math, 30 physical education, 10 commerce, 130 economics, 50 English, Punjab 55, Physics 20 Hindi 5, Chemistry 10 and biology 30 school Lectures are to be recruited.
He further stated that for 3522 ETT teachers, 10+2, ETT Diploma and TET are the compulsory conditions of passing whereas for Master/Mistress recruitment, BA,,BEd, BSc. Bed, one concerned subject exam in addition to TET will be compulsory.
For school lecturer, the basic qualification is MA/Bed or MSc Bed but there is no mention of passing of TET test or additional subject exam, on the website of the education department, he added.
Hans Raj said, in case there is exam for the post of Lecturer then becoming a teacher for primary and secondary departments would be more difficult then lecturer.
As per the sources, for the post of lecturers, there is possibility of framing of new policy of eligibility.
While the TET pass educated youths are feeling happy over the recruitment avenues made available by the government but on the other hand, after the announcement of new posts, the Drawing, PTI and DPE are not so happy.
Hans Raj, spokesperson PERC conveying this thanks to the Punjab Education Minister said, the new recruitments will give a big relief to the educated youths waiting to join the government job. He however, demanded from the government to recruit at least 2000 of each category in Drawing, PTI and DPE teacher so that the study of these unattended subjects is already carried out in the schools.
