Success stories of ‘Punar Uthan’ under PULSA campaign ‘Punjab against Drug Addiction’ in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, October 31, 20223: As per directions of Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, Executive Chairman, PULSA, SAS Nagar, PULSA’s Campaign – “Punjab Against Drugs Addiction” and under DLSA’s campaign “Punar Uthan” for rehabilitation of the de-addicted persons have been launched in District Ferozepur during the full month of October and under the able guidance of District & Sessions Judge, these campaigns are being carried out by DLSA, Ferozepur. The campaign has certain success stories also.
During the campaign, 2 NDPS cases of a small quantity of addicted accused (Consumers) have been disposed of till now and 2 addicted persons got admitted to the De-Addiction Centre of Civil Hospital, Ferozepur for their treatment free of costs and medicines as well as meals provided to them during their treatment, free of costs. Till 31.10.2023, a total of 12 applications of addicts were received by the DLSA, Ferozepur in the help desk established at Civil Hospital, Ferozepur for de-addiction and the same have been forwarded to the Civil Hospital, Ferozepur for needful.
With the coordination of District administration, Ferozepur, the process regarding the employment in private sector for 2 persons who got de-addict during this campaign has been initiated by DLSA, Ferozepur and the request letters in this regard have already been sent to the Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur for needful. The awareness programs and other activities would be carried out further to spread awareness against drug addiction.
