STF nabs 3 persons including woman with 1.050 kg heroin for drug peddling
Ferozepur, October 17, 2023: Punjab Police’s Special Task Force (STF) Ferozepur Range, team led by Balkar Singh ASI, under the tutelage of Bhupinder Singh, AIG STF nabbed three drug peddlers including a woman with recovery of 1.050 kg heroin. The STF also impounded one motorcycle being used by the accused to supply heroin.
In fact to avoid suspicion of trafficking, women are used as labour and used to smuggle drugs as an auto driver.
Addressing the media persons, Bhupinder Singh AIG STF said, the STF team had arrested two accused Raj Singh alias Karan and Shinderpal Singh, of village Dona Mattar urf Gajni Wala, with recovery of one kg heroin. In another case, Satpal Kaur resident of village Dhani Nawan Kila under Lakho Ke Behram police station has been arrested with recovery of only 50 gm heroin.
He said, it is very unfortunate that youths are involved in drug peddling and in the present scenario; our teachers can play a decisive role in preventing young students from this ominous menace. A teacher is generally a role model for the students and has considerable and credible influence on their minds. This can be possible if schools play their roles in a positive direction.
All the alleged accused have been booked under NDPS Act. Further investigations are on with special focus on to trace backward and forward links. The accused will be produced in the court to get police remand and more drug recovery is expected. The crime record of the accused is under investigation, he added.

He further said, during the year 56 cases have been registered by STF Ferozepur Range and recovered 12.515 kg heroin, 15.500 kg opium, 21,000 habit forming drugs, 20 kg poppy husk, Rs.53,000 as drug money, one pistol with magazine and 3 live cartridges.
