Youths could be sensitized about rich Punjabi culture through Golden Jubilee celebrations: Jindu State Level Golden Jubilee celebrations of Punjabi Suba in Ferozepur Ferozepur, October 21, 2016: As a part of celebrations to mark the completion of 50 years of Punjabi Suba, a state level function was organized with presentation of “Heritage Models”, at local Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus presided over by Joginder Singh Jindu, MLA Rural. Jagseer Singh, District Education Officer(S), R.K.Deora, Dy.EO (S) and Pargat Singh Brar, Dy. EO(P) were also present. The event was also followed by traditional sports, speech contests, folk dance and folk instruments competitions, handwriting competitions, dress exhibition, heritage fiars, quiz and seminsa on the theme of the Punjab Suba. The government is organizing a series of state-level functions to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Punjab Suba, throughout the month of October before final celebrations on November 1 when every Punjabi residing in the counry or abroad who had contributed to the struggle for the formation of Punjabi Suba, would be invited for the celebrations and honoured. The events will feature presentations of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat. Speaking on the occasion, Joginder Singh Jindu, MLA (Rural) said, during these celebrations, children and youth could be sensitized about the rich Punjabi heritage and culture, mother tongue, Punjabi literature and several laurels by Punjabis in different walks of life. Jagseer Singh, DEO in his address said, During the month long golden jubilee celebrations in 22 district of Punjab, 44 teams of junior and senior groups will display the rich heritage culture of Punjab through models showing the collection of vanished articles related to old culture will be put up at different places. Nodal Officers Deepak Sharma and Ashwani Sharma informed that in Junior category District Sangrur bagged first position, Ferozepur second and Muktsar third place in the model presentation competitions. While in the junior category, Barnala stood first, Kapurthala second and Feozepur at third place. Rajesh Mehta, District Science Supervisor is organizing the programmes in the district on different subjects from time to time, to highlight the activities of the Education Department.
