Smuggler arrested, Heroin, Pistol and Pakistani SIM recovered
Ferozepur June 1, 2018: Narcotics Cell and Border Security Force in a joint operation have arrested one drug peddler with the recovery of 13 kg heroin, Pistol and Pakistani SIM near Indo-Pak border in Ferozepur near Zero Line between the Pillar No.214/5/6 having the international value of Rs.65 crores.
Speaking to the media persons, IGP Gurinder Singh Dhillon said, during the naka at Bus stop Jodhpur by Narcotics Cell by a team headed by Jasbir Singh Incharge, a tip-off was received that Jiwan Singh son Bahal Singh of village Gajni Wala (Dona Mattar) under Lakho Ke Behram Police Station, who had close contacts with the Pakistani smugglers and had also Pakistani SIM, arrange heroin consignment and further supply to smugglers in Chandigarh, Delhi. Jiwan Singh has now arranged fresh consignment of heroin and is in contact with their counterparts in Pakistan from Mamdot grain market.
Dhillon further said, the police cops working on the information, arrested Jiwan Singh on the spot and on search, one mobile phone and Pakistani SIM were recovered from his possession. He said, 13 packets of heroin were also recovered from the designated place by the accused weighing 12.700 kg. Further investigations are on and more recovery from him cannot be ruled during the course of an investigation, he added.
