Slight spike in Covid-19 count as Ferozepur reports 14 new cases
Ferozepur, December 10, 2020 While Covid-19 cases being reported on a daily basis have been falling consistently since early October, there are concerns that the city could witness a second wave of infections as a slight increase in Corona cases has been noticed today with reporting of 14 positive cases today. In addition, two deaths have also been reported.
As per the latest report, till date, 71512 samples were taken since the outbreak of coronavirus, out of which 66,654 were tested negative, 4,449 tested positive, 4,250 recovered from infection and number of people under medication in the district are only 61 active cases. The result of 409 samples are however, awaited.
Due to Coronavirus, the total deaths in the district are 138 including two of today – one female of 55 years of Ferozepur City and one male 50 years of Ferozshah near Talwandi Bhai.
A rise in cases is being seen after a long gap which may be due to reducing of usage of masks and other Covid precautions day by day. The increase in cases has to be watched carefully over the coming weeks, said a senior official from the health department.
