Six mobiles recovered from Ferozepur jail
Ferozepur, April 14, 2022: The recovery of mobiles from the jail inmates and lying unclaimed in the barracks and throwing in the packets from inside along with other banned items is a continuous process. Six more mobiles on the second consecutive day were recovered from three jail inmates. Earlier five mobiles were recovered.
As per the details, in the first raid by Kailash Assistant Superintendent, four mobiles were recovered one mobile each was recovered from a prisoner and undertrial prisoner while two mobiles were found unclaimed. In the second raid by Kuldip Singh Assistant Superintendent, two mobiles were recovered, one from the undertrial prisoner and the other lying unclaimed.
The frequent recovery of mobiles and other banned items from inside the jail has put focus on the lax security in and outside the jail.
A case under Section 52-A of the Prisons Act has been registered against the inmates already facing trial or punishment in the jail. , Baldev Singh has been appointed as IO to investigate the matter from various angles.
