Ferozepur, December 18, 2022: The protestors on sit-in dharna at the site of Malbros International Liquor Factory in village Mansurwal at Zira, refused to end the protest despite appeal by the Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal deputed by the Chief Minister after meeting with 11-member committee at Chandigarh.
Meanwhile, 15 persons along with 100/125 persons have been booked for blocking the way of policemen at the dharna site and for holding protest at the road to the ethanol plant from Ratol Rohi village to Zira, under Sections 283, 353, 186, 341, 188, 148, 149 of IPC 1860 and 8 B of National Highway Act 1956.
The 15 booked have been identified as Bachittar Singh, Mukhtiar Singh, Balhira Singh, Jasvir Singh, Gurnek Singh, Manpreet Singh, Shinder Singh, Ram Singh, Laddu Singh, Jaswinder Singh of Sodhiwala, Zira and Kuldeep Singhbof Khukhrana Moga, Jugraj Singh, Balraj Singh Singh of Feroke Zira, Sukhdev Singh of Mahian Wala Kalan, Ziraand 100/125 unknown persons of Zira. The FIR states that the District Magistrate has also put the protestors wiser about the violation of orders of Punjab and Haryana High Court repeated by Insp/SHO also but they did not lift the dharna.
Our only demand is to close down the factory permanently, said the protestors at Zira.
