Sikh outfits express resentment burning effigies over no action in sacrilege cases
Ferozepur August 30, 2018: Despite the clear outcome of the case, the leaders and associates of various Sikh organizations opposed for taking no action by the Punjab government against the accused found guilty for showing disrespect in the Vidhan Sabha and sacrilege cases.
Expressing concern over the inaction the effigies of Badal family, Majithia, Giani Gurbachan Singh, Himmat Singh, Giani Gurmukh Singh, then DGP Sumedh Saini, and Dera Sarsa Head were burnt on Makhu-Zira road.
Reacting to the time-pass policy of the government and referring to the injustice with the Sikhs from to time, the Akali Dal Farmer Wing District President Pargat Singh Shihanpari, Sukhjit Singh Makhu, Jathedar Harjeet Singh, Balkar Singh Jogewala, Akali Dal, 1920, Ramandeep Singh Khadoor leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal demanded to send the accused in the sacrilege cases to jail without any delay.
While shouting the effigy of angry people against the accused, the protesters also slapped with the shoes on the effigy. They also announced for repeating of this protest on August 31 at 10 am at Zira against the dilly-dallying attitude of the state government. The protest would continue until we get justice, said the protesters.
Levelling charges, they said, the attitude of the Badals with the people for the sake votes, will be written in black words in the history of Punjab. They also talked about the unannounced emergency like situation in the country against the Sikhs.
On this occasion, Giani Harpal Singh Makhu, Bhai Sukhwant Singh Granthi, Nishan Singh, Simrantjit Singh Nizamiwala, Baba Dilbagh Singh Dal Panth Baba Bidhi Chand, Eknoor Khalsa Army President Nirmal Singh Shinhapadi, Gursewak Singh Sabhra, Lakhwinder Singh Shihanpari, Sarpanch Harjinder Singh Chiragwali and others also addressed the protesters.
