Seizure of mobile phones from jail puts prison authorities in fix

Ferozepur, May 13, 2019:  With the seizure of three mobiles from three jail inmates in Ward No.1, during the search operation goes unabated and it has raised questions over the functioning of the prison administration.

On the complaint of Asstt. Supdt. Jail,Ferozepur, a case under Sections 52-A Prisons Act 1894 has been registered against three prisoners already in the jail – Gurpreet Sigh of village Khanna, near Makhu, Harmesh Singh of village Shera Mandar and Ajit Singh Happy of Ferozepur – on recovery of three mobiles including battery and working SIMs – two Samsung and one Lava Company, during the search operation of Ward No.1.

Further investigations are going on to ascertain their links and purpose, from inside the jail and also about their entry into jail premises, said Dilbagh Singh, IO appointed in this case.

Anyhow, the recovery of mobiles from time to time during the search operations from the jail inmates and premises, has put the authorities in a fix and doubtful.
