Security threat to jail with recovery of mobile from prisoner

Ferozepur, March 28, 2018: With the regular recovery of working mobiles with SIM cards, drugs etc. from the jail inmates, has posed a security threat. 

Recently, one mobile of Icall company along with batter and SIM card in working condition has been recovered from a prisoner identified as Sarabjit Singh son of Sharif resident of village Chaban of Tehsil Zira in Ferozepur, during the routine search operation.

The prisoner has been booked on the complaint of Supdt. Central Jail under Section 52-A of Prisons Act 1894 and further investigations are on.

Jail sources said, the checking process is being intensified to put a check on smuggling of mobiles inside the jail premises and also to avoid any contact with the prisoners outside the jail.  Sources further said the calls details are being minutely scrutinized to ascertain the purpose of keeping the mobile. However, it is definitely a security threat to the jail of operating mobiles from inside the jail premises.
