SC Commission takes serious note of viral video of beating woman
Ferozepur, January 15, 2021: Punjab State SC Commission has taken a serious note of viral video of beating a woman on social media, in village Mansoor Wala Wadda, in Tehsil Zira of Ferozepur district.
SC Commission Member Deepak Kumar personally visited the village to know about the incident. During the visit, the Member SC Commission, assured to take action against those who have beaten the woman. He also directed the doctors for the treatment of victim in the hospital and it will be free of cost.
He, however informed that a case has been registered against the accused on the basis of victim’s statement under SC/ST Act, apart from other Sections, for beating and using derogatory and defamatory statements for woman and asked for action-take report, in the case.
He also said, the action shall be taken against the culprit as per the relevant provisions of law to avoid recurrence of the crime in the future.
On this occasion, SDM Ranjit Singh, Sonu Nahar, Kuldip Singh Brarn, Manjit Singh Khokhar, Lakhwinder Singh Kulwinder Singh Bhatti and Feroz Khan were present.
