SAD(A) condemns removal of articles of faith of Sikh candidates at Army recruitment rally
Ferozepur, April 9, 2021: In its meeting of SAD(A) Ferozepur Unit, headed by Gurcharan Singh Bhullar President condemned the removal of articles of faith of Sikh candidates at the Army recruitment rally in Ferozepur.
Army Recruitment Rally is being held for eligible candidates of districts Bathinda, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ferozepur and Fazilka from 1 Apr 2021 to 20 Apr 2021 at Capt Sunder Singh Stadium, Ferozepur Cantt.
The 5 “K’s” are an integral part of Sikhs and their dress. It is now worrisome that Sikhs have to face all this, said Gurcharan Singh Bhullar, President, SAD(A) Ferozepur.
Bhullar demanded that Shiromani Committee should get this matter enquired into and take suitable action. He said, we will have meetings with other religious bodies also to work out a strategy to fight against the removal of articles of faith.
In the past also, in CBSE and AIPMT tests also certain Sikh students in Punjab, Chandigarh and Jaipur were asked to remove their articles of faith before entering the examination centre and SGPC has taken a serious note of it of the Sikh’s right to wear their religious symbols.
