215 new COVID-19 +ve cases, 3 deaths reported in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, January 18, 2022: Teachers, Cantt Board employees, BSF jawans, and Jail officials are among the fresh Covid-19 positive cases of 215 reported in the district. Three deaths were also reported taking the total tally to 507.
As per the medical bulletin, 610 positive cases are still active in the district. While 123 have recovered, the result of 400 samples is still awaited.
In all, 3,40,152 samples have been taken in the district, out of which 3,24,196 reported as negative, 15,556 positive, 14,439 recovered since the outbreak of Coronavirus in this part. However, there had been 507 deaths in the district including three of today – one male of 58 years of Ferozshah and two females – one of 58 years and 99 years in Ferozepur Block.
The vaccination campaign has been intensified in the district to come up at par with national and state-level percentages. The sampling process has also been sped up by tracing positive contact persons and asking them for the home quarantine as a preventive measure.
Presently, the first dose percentage is 75.16%, the second dose 38.20%, the precautionary dose 16.9%, and 4.74 percent of the age group of 15-17 years. The wearing of masks is being ensured at the public places said DEOc-cum-DC adding we are ensuring for the conduct of coming assembly elections under Covid protocols.
