SAD Ex-MLA’s sons' surrender, police gets two days’ remand
Ferozepur, January 13, 2018: The Ferozepur police got two days’ remand for further investigation in the case of both the sons of Joginder Singh Jindu, Ex-SAD MLA during last tenure of Badals’, who surrendered before the police on Saturday in the case of complaint lodged by Cantonment Board Member Zora Singh Sandhu, for attacking on him after the meeting on June 5, 2017 and insulting the Sikh outward symbols – Sikhs have five outward symbols which a true Sikh has been commanded to observe.
It is added, since the registration of the case, both the sons – Surinder Singh Babbo, President, District SC Wing Youth Akali Dal and who is also the Vice Chairman of Cantonment Board, and Rohit Gill, Cantt Board Member, had been trying for bail from the courts but the same was rejected even by the High Court. Even the investigations were shifted to DGP being the high profile political case. A petition to dismiss the case has also been filed before the High Court and is fixed for January 23.
As per the sources, during the investigation, certain Sections were withdrawn by the police but the status of sacrilege of Sikh symbols charges remained intact.
No police source has confirmed this but taking cognizance of all the pros and cons of the case, on Saturday, both the sons have surrendered before the police and today on presenting them in the Court, two days police remand was obtained.
On the other hand, Joginder Singh Jindu Ex-MLA speaking to the media persons said, the registration of a case is due to political enmity and he has full faith in the judiciary and my sons will be acquitted without any punishment.
