Defeat in Delhi will not have any impact on the local MC Polls : Katora

Only one nomination on the second day,  73121 voter shall exercise their right to cast vote

Ferozepur, February 11:  The absence of AAP from the municipal elections arena would make it a direct contest between the SAD-BJP alliance and the Congress-PPP combine or independent candidates.  But the SAD-BJP alliance is still indecisive over seat sharing formula in Municipal Council elections.

In Ferozepur, the elections to 4 Municipal Councils and 2 Nagar Panchayats are going to be held as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission.  On the second day, onle one candidate has filed the papers while the last date for submission is February 13.  The scrutiny of papers will be on February 14 while the same can be withdrawn by February 16.  The election symbols will be announced on the same day.

Jugraj Singh Katora, District BJP released the list of 19 candidates who will be contesting the MC polls on BJP ticket. However, the names of candidates for  4 wards will be finalized by tomorrow. He said, 8 wards have been left for SAD candidates with mutual understanding of seat sharing.

According to Navnit Kumar Gora, President SAD (Urban Area), the party high command shall finalize the list by today evening.

While Congress has yet to announce its list of candidates and no one was available in the office to give any information on this account.

In reply to the query, Katora said, the defeat in Dellhi will not have any impact on the local MC Polls.

As per the information, in total 73121 voter shall exercise their right to cast vote in the upcoming City MC Polls (Male Voter 38302, Female voters 34819)
