Rs.1.51 cr embezzlement in Ferozepur Education Deptt : 11 booked including BPEO

Ferozepur, December 4, 2023: An embezzlement of Rs.1.51 cr has been detected in the Education Department of Ferozepur in Guruharsahai Block.  In the 23 pages FIR,  Block Primary Education Officer Guruharaahai-1   along with ten more employees have been booked.

Initially, on coming to know of the embezzlement, a committee of 6 members was constituted, which submitted its report on July 4, 2023, in which it was found that misappropriation had been found in the grant received from the government for flat panel, furniture and project class room etc. and the amount was transferred in the accounts of kins.

As per the departmental findings in a report, the funds were allocated for developmental works including upgrading of school infrastructure.

Now a case has been registered against BPEO Gurmit Singh along with other employees indicated as Charanjit Singh Accountant and his brothers Mohinder Pal and  Rakesh Kumar son of Sadhu Ram, Harmandeep Singh son of Gurbachan Singh, Karn Kumar Mehta son of Ved Parkash, Mohan Singh and his brother Satish Kumar and Indraz, Mukesh Kumar and Sadhu Ram for connivance in the embezzlement of Rs.1.51 cr, under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 409, 120-B IPC and Section 13 of the PC Act 1988 on the complaint of DEO (Elementary) Satish Kumar.
