Kamboj outfit to sit on dharna on Jan. 26 at Jallianwala Bagh to protest covering statute of Shaheed Udham Singh with Ticket Booth
Ferozepur, January 22, 2020: Feeling insulted over covering Shaheed Udham Singh’s statue at Jallianwala Bagh with Ticket Booth, the various organizations of Kamboj community along with the family members of Shaheed Udham Singh, have decided to sit on Dharna on Republic Day January 26.
The supporting organizations are Ram Mohammad Singh Azad Club, Sunam, Shaheed-e-Watan Youth Organization, Punjab and Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial Bhawan, Ferozepur, said Gurbhej Singh Tibbin spokesman of Kamboj community.
He said, it is very unfortunate on the part of the Centre government to cover the statue of Shaheed Udham Singh with Ticket Booth with plan to impose entry ticket to pay tributes to the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country.
Tibbi said, the Kamboj community will not tolerate the insult to the hero instead of recognizing his sacrifice for killing the General and accepting the gallows.
In case the ticket booth is not removed, the community and family members will announce further course of action, he said.
Sources said, the Kamboj community members may take action to demolish the ticket booth erected covering the statue of Shaheed Udham Singh.
