ROB closure for 120 days in Ferozepur postponed till September 1
Ferozepur, August 18, 2023: The Road over Bridge ordered to be closed from August 19, for 120 days, due to electrification work, which connects Ferozepur City and Cantt, has now been postponed till September 1.
Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur in a letter to the Divisional Rail Manager and Dy.Chief Engineer, Railway Electrification, Ludhianato postpone the work on ROB till September 1, 2023, to avoid inconvenience to the public due to opening of floodgates of Bhakra dam which may further deteriorate the situation as it would require frequent movement of goods from city to the adjoining areas.
The sudden water level of Satluj River has risen to very high level causing flooding in many villages around Ferozepur and ROB in Ferozepur is the only passage that connects City and Cantonment.
DC said, the action has been taken during the flood like situation, the movement of goods from city to adjoining areas and if we start the work now it will hamper delivery of essential goods to needy people.
