Retd Subedar murdered, wife seriously injured after attack by unidentified thief

Ferozepur, January 9, 2018: There was a pall of gloom descended in Cantonment residential area when Retired Subedar – identified as Amar Singh, 62 years old, the resident of Sant Lal Road, Ferozepur Cantt was murdered after the attack by unidentified youth and seriously injured his wife Charanjit Kaur on last night.

As per the information, Retd Subedar belongs to Jagraon was presently residing on Sant Lal Road, Ferozepur Cantt. He had two sons and both are settled abroad.

Charanjit Kaur, wife of the deceased Retd Subedar under treatment at Civil Hospital informed that on last night around 10.30 pm, when she got on a noise from outside, she saw that one youth 25-30 years of dark complexion unidentified was involved in a scuffle and in a close combat with her husband, attacked with a sharp-edged knife.  When she tried to interfere, she too was attacked. On making a noise, the attacker fled away from the scene.

The residents of the area on coming to know of the incident took both to the civil hospital where Retd Subedar was declared dead and Charanjit Kaur with serious injuries was admitted.

Police too reached on the spot and started to nab the accused with the help of Dog Squad and Forscenic Investigation Team.
