Rattandeep Sandhu, DPO Ferozepur honoured for her excellent work under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign

Ferozepur January 21, 2019: To balance the sex ratio in view of an increasing gap, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign in the state has shown positive results and the name of Ferozepur was included in low percentage but it has started showing the improved results.

Under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, the team headed by Rattandeep Sandhu, District Programme Officer, Ferozepur under the tutelage of Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, a door-to-door message was conveyed.

Rattandeep Sandhu, DPO said, under the said programme, training, street plays, wall paintings, magic show, door-to-door understanding were organized to create awareness among the common people about the daughters.  With these continuous programmes, the sex ratio is improving since 2015.  It was 874 in 2015, 870 in 2017, 908 in 2017 and 916 in 2017 and it is an unbroken process for improvement in the girls’ sex ratio.

Rattandeep Sandhu, DPO was honoured at the state level function organized by Social Security and Women and Child Development Department, Punjab, for his dedicated services in doing the excellent work, for improving the sex ration in the district.

Speaking on this occasion, Rattandeep Sandhu assured to continue to work for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme to further improve the gap between the male-female sex ratio.
