Railways withdraw goods trains from Punjab
Ferzepur, October 25, 2020: The Railways reported to have withdrawn the movement of goods trains to Punjab after the incident of stopping of goods trains at Moga and Jaitu meant for movement of wheat and coal for the Corporate houses.
According to another railway source, the intention behind stopping the movement of goods trains to Punjab is said to be that the centre has decided not bow before the dictation of farmers outfits and decided that both passenger and goods trains will run simultaneously. Added here, the goods trains were started after the withdrawal of farmers agitation from the railway tracks for movement of goods trains for transportation of essential commodities. DRM Ferozepur also confirmed that we cannot operate in a restrictive environment.
