Railways highlights its “Life Line” achievements in Ferozepur Division
Ferozepur, April 11, 2017: Indian Railway – known as the Life Line of India is a passenger oriented institution which continuously strive to improve its services and efficiency – has reached new heights in its achievement exceptionally well on all fronts during 2016-17, Ferozepur Rail Division with special reference of Zero punctuality loss to train on TRD account, stated in a release by Anuj Parkash, Divisional Rail Manager.
Addressing the media persons, DRM said, there have been remarkable achievement during 2016-17 financial year in Ferozepur Division which is one of the
DRM underlined the accomplishment of the railways in Commercial, Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical and Protection Force to provide better services to the passengers and business class and statistics wise, it has better performance in comparison to the previous year. For example, revenue loading in MTs was 12.73 MTs against the target of 11.98 MTs and the best ever railway wagon holding was 622 wagons achieved in January 2017 and double tracking of 2855 KMs rail line.
He said, Ferozepur Rail Division has received 5 National Energy Conservation Awards 2016 from Bureau of Energy Efficiency Ministry of Power (GoI) and one among them first prize for DRM Office Ferozepur in Office Building Category and 4 awards Railway Station Sector.
The Protection Force headed by S.Z.Khan, Commandant, Railway Protection Forcce has done creditable job being on the front line in dealing with 700 complaints, handing over of 185 missing children through NGOs to their parents, arresting of luggage lifting criminals, introducing Help Line, returning of left over articles to 215 persons including three foreigners, introducing of Help Desk at Amritsar with good response of 400 passengers with 20 per cent foreigners, bringing down the crime graph to 70 per cent, arrest of 48 criminals who later on convicted.
On asking about the threat letters, Khan said, we don’t take such threatening letters or calls as fake but do work on it and intensify the security arrangements to deal with any challenge.
Confirming the delay in starting of Rail Under Bridge at Basti Tankan Wali, DRM said, completion of process at all levels, is more important before starting the work and in this case, it is at the last stage and hope to start shortly.
