Railways earn Rs.4.26 Cr from 40,840 without ticket passengers during May in Ferozepur Rail Division

Ferozepur, June 2, 2023: The ticket checking team of Ferozepur Rail Division conducted intensive ticket checking in trains to curb ticketless and irregular travel to provide comfortable travel and better services to all genuine rail users. A total of 40,840 passengers were found traveling without tickets or irregularly during ticket checking in trains during May, 2023 by the ticket checking staff and chief ticket inspectors of the division and revenue of about Rs.4.26 crore was recovered from them as fine.
In the month of May, Ferozepur division was given a target of Rs.4 crore by the head office to earn revenue through ticket checking, but 16 percent more revenue was earned than the target set by the ticket checking staff of the division.
Regular checking is done at the main stations of the division to keep the railway stations of the division clean and to prevent the general public from spreading filth at the stations and to make them aware of cleanliness. As a result, in the month of May, 453 passengers were also fined Rs.73,000 for littering in the station premises (Anti-Littering Act).
Divisional Railway Manager Dr. Seema Sharma said that the ticket checking campaign will continue in Ferozepur division. The main purpose of ticket checking is to improve the sale of railway tickets and to recover fines from passengers traveling without tickets so that they travel with proper tickets in future. Appreciating all the ticket checking staff, the Divisional Railway Manager said that this has been possible due to their collective efforts and hard work.
