Railway arrange extra coaches for safe travel of students from Valley to different parts of country
Ferozepur, August 4, 2019: Following advisory from the government, the Railways too have arranged extra coaches for safe travel of NIT students from Kashmir Valley to different parts of country.
The advisory came after security officials on Friday said that Amarnath Yatra was under threat and they had recovered a large cache of ammunition including a Pakistan-made anti-personnel mine and a US-made M-24 sniper rifle along the route to the shrine.
Rajesh Aggarwarl, DRM Ferozepur in his tweet informed that extra coaches in Train no. 16032 (Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Chennai) has been arranged to ensure safe travel of NIT students arriving from Kashmir Valley to different parts of country.
He said, two extra coaches in Train no. 16032 (Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Chennai) has been arranged to ensure safe travel of NIT students arriving from Kashmir Valley to different parts of country.
As per advisories, students of NIT/Srinagar were transported at a very short notice. Railways stood up to the task and ensured transport of around 450 students to other parts of the country as under:
1) Around 150 by 16032 Ex-JAT to MAS on 03/8/19
2) Around 300 by 12478/ 22462/12920/12238 Ex-JAT to NDLS/INDB/BSB on 04/8/19
