Punjab Suwidha Centre Karamchari Union strike enters 11th day, extended upto Sept 24
Ferozepur, September 17, 2016: The Punjab State Suwidha Karamchari Union strike entered 11th day today and further extended upto September 24, said Harmit Singh, President.
He said, the Punjab government has totally become deaf and dumb and least bothered about the inconvenience to the public and family members of the employees.
It is pertinent to mention that officials of Suwindha Centrs have proceeded on strike with complete shutting down the online systems which cannot run without the individual’s passwords.
On the one hand, the Punjab Government has initiated the programme to regularize all those employees working under the contractual system whereas on the other side, the employees working in Suwidha Centres for the last 12 years with dedication are being shown the exit door. Now every employee is fed up from the step-motherly treatment of the government.
President said, we will further intensify the agitation by taking harsh steps, in case our services are not regularized.
He further said, it is very unfortunate that the government has adopted the unconcerned attitude towards the demands of the employees with the result we have to extend the strike. There is no official call from any representative of the government and it proves that the Punjab government is neither bothered about the demands of the 1100 employees nor for the inconvenience of the public.
President said, we have decided to extend the strike upto September 24 and the government will be responsible for any consequences on whatever steps are taken by the employees during this period.
