Punjab State Talent Search Exam scholarship beneficial for 8th & 10th class students
Ferozepur, November 8, 2016 : The Punjab State (state institute of Science education {SCERT,} sponsored scheme ”
The Punjab State Talent Search Exam (PSTSE scholarship scheme beneficial for the school students was launched in 2009, with objective of the scheme to award scholarship to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to retain their drop outs at class VIII & X and encourage them to continue the study at secondary level.
Giving this information, Vijay Garg, Lecturer- dedicated for creating awareness among the students for bright future- from Malout said, “Under this scheme,1000 scholarships are given under the said scheme in the state,who parents income from all sources is -Rs 1.5 lac or less and 500 seats for 8th and 500 seats for 10th class quote allotted to state”.
He further said that the students who have secured minimum 70% marks in 7th and 9th class and in case of S.C category 45% marks for this benefit provided they are studying in Punjab government schools.
Regarding the syllabus and number,Garg said , total marks are 180 with in 7th & 8th for 8th class PSTSE ,same for 10th class PSTSE as Science, Social Studies, Maths, Punjabi, Hindi, English beside mental ability, he added.
He further stated that the examination will be in two parts-first,relating to mental ability having 50 Questions verbal and non verbal reasoning having 4 answers and 2nd parts,relating to subjects which include 35 Questions each from Science & Social studies,20 Questions of maths,14 questions of English,13 each from Punjabi and Hindi.
As regards the examination centers Garg said, PSTSE exam with be held on 22 January,2017 at district headquarters with 3 hours time and last date for submission of form will be 8.12.2016 December 2016.No admission fee is charged for this examination. The students getting merit position will get Rs.200 per month scholarship from state government up to 12th class.
