Punjab Petrol Pump Assoc. demands “One Nation, One Rate” for fuel to eliminate disparity of rate differentiationFerozepur, July 17, 2016  : The Punjab Petrol Pump Association in its meeting held at Ferozepur presided over by District President, S.P.Khera and attended by Punjab President, Sandeep Sehgal, expressed concern over the attitude of the Punjab government for giving sympathetic consideration to their genuine demand of about rate differentiation with neighouring states and security arrangements at the pumps in view of number of incidents of loot.

Sandeep Sehgal said, All India Petrol Pump Association has already taken up the issue of One Nation One Rate.  So far as Punjab is concerned, there are around 3300 petrol pumps and due to huge difference in rates in the adjoining states with the result the petrol pump owners has to face heavy losses.

S.P.Khera, District President said, there are number of incidents of loot at the petrol pump in the state especially in the remote areas because of no security. A deputation of the association has also met the Punjab DGP in this regard who has assured to take adequate measures shortly.

The Association representatives said, the petrol pumps are running in loss since so many years because of wrong policies of the government and some of the pumps have been closed and some are at the verge of closure. The rates at the pumps in the adjoining are cheaper than Punjab and both owner and customer are at a loss in Punjab.

They demanded from the government to look into the demands of petrol pump owners to save them from heavy losses.

Present on this occasion were Rakesh kumar, Punjab General Secretary, Hira Kakkar, Vice President, Ashok Thapal, Vijay Kumar, Asstt. Secretary, Ram Kumar Goyal, Patron of the Association and Sandeep, Cashier.
