Punjab Assembly Elections 2017 : Congress sweeps all four seats in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, March 11, 2017: All the four Congress candidates in Ferozepur District won the Punjab Assembly election 2017 with leading margin.
The winning candidates are Parminder Singh Pinky got 53453 votes while his nearest rival SAD Candidate Sukhpal Singh Nannu got 27852 votes. AAP candidate, despite tall claims to get majority in the state, Narinder Singh Sandha could get only 11,958 votes.
In Ferozepur Rural, Satkar Kaur Congress candidate bagged 60414 votes while the sitting SAD MLA Joginder Singh Jindu giving a tough fight could get only 42121 votes and the third candidate Mohan Singh Phalianwala as AAP candidate got 27966 votes against the odd speculations of the people putting a great loss to SAD candidate.
At Zira constituency, Rajbeer Singh Zira son of Hari Singh Zira former Cabinet Minister won by getting 46846 votes and the old timer Hari Singh Zira could get 33,063 votes. AAP Candidate Gurpreet Gora too got a good response by getting 23,613 votes. But the victory by first time young Congress leader has surprised all other candidates and the people of the area.
In Guruharsahai, despite tough fight by the SAD candidate, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi Congress candidate won the seat by getting 53185 votes while Vardev Singh Nony Mann who worked hard for all the full five years by enjoying the status of Halqa Incharge could get 47,648 votes. AAP candidate, Malkit Chand Thind in spite of the fact that kamboj community and Rai Sikh vote was claimed by him could get only 12,972 votes.
