Ferozepur, December 1, 2015: On a call from Anganwadi Employees Federation of India, All Punjab Anganwadi Mulazam Union, District Ferozepur under the leadership of Hargobind Kaur, registered a protest in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, for acceptance of their genuine demands.

Addressing the protesters, Hargobind Kaur said, for the last four decades, 28 lakh anganwadi workers are working under Integrated Child Development Scheme( ICDS) scheme.

The demands include, the status of government employees should be given to anganwadi workers.  The leaders said, till such time this facility is not extended, each worker should be given Rs.20000 per month and Rs.10000 to helper.  Another demand put forth by them was the blocks given to the NGOs should be brought back under the department and no additional work like election duty, should be taken from them.

Earlier, a deputation of anganwadi workers submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur in the name of Chief Minister, Punjab.

Later on, the PM, CM in effigies were burnt.

Present on this occasion were Sheela Devi, Kuldip Kaur, Kulwinder Kaur, Parkash kaur, Kanta Rani, Prem Kumari, Mango Devi and in good number of workers and helpers.
