PSPCL Online Electricity Bill payment site goes down

Ferozepur, March 5, 2016 :Keeping in view the non-functioning of its Online payment website , the PSPCL have launched another site for online payment for the convenience of consumers.Earlier website has not been in order since three months.
The matter was brought to our notice by one of the customer having account number – 3001175915 – of ten digits. He informed that the matter was also brought to the notice of officials of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) but the website has not been still not in order.

He said, while going on the site, the account number is asked and on feeding the same, an icon asking for 12 digit account appears on the site.

On asking from the Resident Auditor (RA), it was told that double zero ‘00’ may be prefixed before the account number printed on the bill but despite adding two zeros, still the online payment cannot be made.

When contacted SDO Kuldeep Singh and Rajneesh Grover, IT Cell, admitted about the non-functioning of the main site due to technical fault. PCPSL has launched another site for online payment for the convenience of consumers. It may due to net problem sometime, he added.

The downing of the sites is a big challenge to the software engineers to float such websites only after its proper testing and coordination with the concerned sections as in the instant case. Otherwise, thousands of rupees spent on construction of website is of no use besides causing inconvenience to the customers…..
