Ferozepur: January 20, 2023: In a unique effort, the police also made special announcements in the town, especially for parents of children who somehow procure the string and use it for kite flying.
Punjab Police taking initiatives to deal with every matter related to the safety of life and property of the general public and on full alert in view of the upcoming Basant Festival – a celebration of kite flying. During the last two months, 71 Thread vendors were checked in the district and 1,045 banned Chinese thread rolls were recovered. In total 8 cases have been registered and 10 accused have been arrested in this regard.
SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said, the police had made public announcement against sale and use of Chinese thread over rickshaw in the district giving a clear message for taking prompt action against the mischievous element for use of the dangerous Chinese thread for kite flying, which turns out to be fatal for the general public and the birds.
She said an order prohibiting its use has also been issued by the Deputy Commissioner which has been published and disseminated to the public by the concerned department. Despite this, the police are taking prompt action against the mischievous answers who do not stop selling/using Chinese doors.
During the search operation in last two months, 71 thread vendors were checked in the district with recovery of 1,045 banned Chinese thread rolls and action was taken against the violators as per the law under Wildlife Protect Act 1972, said SSP adding in total 8 cases have registered and 10 accused have been arrested in this regard.
SSP further informed that constant vigilance is going on in the whole district by the district police and if any person is found selling, using, storing the banned Chinese thread, then he will be dealt with according to law to ensure the safety of life and property of the general public.
