Pickpockets have a field day at religious event, 16 persons lost mobiles and purse
Ferozepur, November 11, 2022: Pick-pocketing is a form of larceny that involves the stealing of money or other valuables from the person or a victim’s pocket without them noticing the theft at that time. It may involve considerable dexterity and a knack by misdirection. In this context, the followers at the Satsang being held at Ram Sharnam Ashram, while busy in chanting the bhajans and dancing, their purse and mobiles were missing. In the event, Shrikrishan Vivekanand Maharaj had especially come from Gohana for discourses.
On coming to know of missing of mobiles and cash from the pockets, the accused fled away from the scene and as per the information, as many as 16 persons were victim of pickpockets.
However, a complaint was lodged with police by Madan Mohan Grover, President Ram Sewa Swami Satyanand Truts Ram Sharnam Ashram, Ferozepur and a case was registered against the unidentified persons. However, the exact amount and number of mobiles have not yet been known which could be ascertained only on coming forward of the people during investigation.
Ayub Masih has been appointed as IO to investigate into the matter. Police sources said, the accused might have participated in the event along with the crowd and targeted the victims. The investigation has been initiated in the matter and the police would track the mobile phones, which could lead them to the accused.
