PEDA organizes two days’ training on ‘Energy Conservation Building Code Simulation’
Ferozepur, September 14, 2018: Sooner or later humanity needs to get its head around the fact that the only long-term sustainable energy solution is solar energy. In this context, a Two – Day intensive training program was organised by Punjab Energy Development Agency – PEDA in association with School of Architecture and Design2Occupancy Services LLP, New Delhi at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus, Ferozepur on ‘Energy Conservation Building Code Simulation’ – ECBC – with the objective of reducing environmental emissions through energy saving and to effectively overcome the barrier.
Punjab Energy Development Agency was formed in Sept. 1991 as a state nodal agency for promotion and development of renewable energy programmes/projects and energy conservation programme in the state of Punjab. PEDA is registered as a Society under the Societies Act of 1860.
Dr. T.S.Sidhu Director, SBSSTC, Ferozepur, commenced the event by addressing professionals and students.
Speaking on the occasion, Sidhu said, PEDA besides working for energy development in the state is also creating awareness among the people for brighter future by adopting the solar energy – Go Solar-Save Energy by initiating solar passive building for offices, shops and homes besides giving a message to turn off lights when not required.
He said humans consume 221 tonnes of coal, 1066 barrels of oil and 93,000 metric cubes of natural gas per second. Energy is the most important resources for humanity and solar energy is the ultimate energy source and sun as a solar energy source has the number of advantages and it does not discriminate but provides equal access to all users.
The event was graced with the presence of Senior Manager, PEDA Tripatjit Singh and Ar. Avinash Singh, Principal, SOA and Registrar Mr J.K. Aggarwal, Head of other Departments and faculty members and dignitaries from PWD Department, Municipal Corporation.
Training Programme was conducted by Sh. Shivam Gaur, Manager, ECBC Training. The event included the expert talk by Ar. Abu Talha, ECBC Master Trainer from New Delhi who delivered a lecture on developing Building Envelop, Lighting, and Energy Simulation in the Indian context.
He enlightened the students about the purpose of this training to provide minimum requirements for energy-efficient design and construction of buildings.
On the second day, in the continuation of Energy simulation by Money Khanna, ECBC Master Trainer, taught on Electrical Systems, services like HVAC system, Interior and Exterior Lighting, Building Envelope (Walls, Roofs, Windows), applies to new construction and major renovation.
The function concluded by the vote of thanks by Ar. Sandeep Singh Assistant Professor Architecture.
