Pay tax or find a place in jail : Om Birla, MP

Ferozepur, June 8, 2017: To look back at the Centre’s performance and to share the same with the public,  during the last three years after coming of BJP into power with an absolute majority for the first time in 30 years, Om Birla, MP from Kot Rajasthan was here in Ferozepur.

Om Birla said, that in last three years, the confidence of the people has increased and even the politics of the country has change.

msajor among the achievements of Modi government are Showing political will, no corruption taint on the government, government for the poor and downtrodden,   decision of one rank one pension, launching of satellites to set world record, introduction of GST – goods and service tax or One Nation One Tax, repealing of 1100 laws, move towards digital transactions, put an end to VIP culture, scrapping of read beacons from cars, FDI, fastest growing economy in the world etc.

Addressing the media persons, Om Birla, counting on fingers the various achievements –  – almost in all the fields  with a different vision – of the Prime Minister Narendera Modi government said, the GST will prove a milestone in the history of Indian democracy. 

With the introduction of GST, one has to pay tax or find a place in the jail, added Om Birla.

Taking about the farmer-friendly BJP government, he said, the government will take care of the farmers right from providing good quality seed to the marketing of their produce.

In reply to the question, Birla point out that the economic conditions of the farmers are different from state to state and it is not possible to make uniform policy for farmers in the country.

Reacting to Dr.Swaninathan’s report, he pointed out that he has only talked about  increasing the Minimum Support Price – MSP – whereas the vision of the Centre government is to double the production of the farmers with minimum cost.

He said, every step of Modi government is a step towards to updgrade the image of the country at the global level.

When point out about still following the various British laws, Birla said, around 1100 such laws that were irrelevant and further simplfied law and order, have been changed in three years of time and more are likely in the coming time when India will have all its own laws.

Speaking on GST, Birla said, after 65 years of independence, strong steps have been initiated to streamline the working of tax at various levels and to put a complete check on converting black money to white money.  With the introduction of GST, the concept about paying tax is clear – either pay tax or find a place in the jail.
