Pangura – Cradle installed at Civil Hospital Ferozepur for unwanted and abandoned children
Ferozepur February 22, 2019: District Child Welfare Unit, Ferozepur with the help of Child Help Line – 1098 – a cradle has been installed outside the Emergency Ward at Civil Hospital for unwanted and abandoned children.
Giving this information, District Program Officer, Mrs. Rattandeep Sandhu said that the parents unable to raise their child can keep their child in this cradle without fear of any legal action. The children left in the cradle will be cared for by the government.
She said that the child holder will not be questioned. However, keeping the child's future in mind, the department has to register an FIR because two months after the filing of FIR, the child welfare of the district, the committee releases a child's adoption certificate, with the help of which the child is given legally adopted by interested parents.
District Child Protection Officer, Mrs. Seema Rani urged the general public to leave the unwanted / abandoned children instead of throwing them out in the cradle – Pangura, so that the child's life could be saved.
