Ferozepur, June 10, 2024:  A pall of gloom descended in Ferozepur’s village Kamala Bodla when the news of a youth Manjit Singh (38 years) died in a road accident in Bahrain was received.

Manjit Singh’s cousin’s son Gurmeet Singh said that Manjit Singh had gone to Bahrain six years back to earn a living and this morning when he was going to work, an overspeeding car suddenly came and hit Manjit Singh and he died on the spot. Manjit Singh has left behind his two children – a son and a daughter, who live in the Punjab village of Kamala Bodla.

Expressing concern over going of youths abroad to earn in the absence of bleak chances of employment, Gurmeet Singh said, the government must generate employment opportunities for the youths in India itself so that Punjab’s youths may not think of going abroad and leaving behind their families and old parents and lose their lives on the foreign lands.
