One booked for using da rone while filing nomination by  candidate

Ferozepur, May 14, 2025: Perhaps this is the first case, since the election campaigning in the district, the Ferozepur police have booked one photographer, using the drone for videography, while the BSP candidate was going to the DEO-cum-DC’s office for filing nominations.

The District Magistrate has already declared the district a No Drone Zone during the Lok Sabha elections within a radius of 25 km from the international border, keeping in view that security is the main focus and using drones for videography is a violation of the orders issued on the subject and Model Code of Conduct as well.

Special permission has to be obtained from the concerned authority through the proper system for using drones.

Baldev Singh police official said that the police party along with him was present near Pilot Chowk Cantt Ferozepur when it was noticed that the accused Gagandeep Singh son of Sohan Singh Jalalabad used a drone while the candidate was going to submit the nomination papers of Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The police party arrested the accused while waiting for the bus near Baba Sher Shah Wali Chowk. A drone camera was seized from him while he booked Section 188 of IPC (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant). He was, however, released on bail.  Meanwhile, the police have warned users against flying drones without valid permission.
